FAQs

How to keep track of personal finances?

Here's our easy 3 step process to keep track of your personal finances with Willa.

1. Create accounts with a current balance

For each bank account, loan, or investment that you own create an account on Willa. Once you’ve created these accounts, add the related account balance as of today by using the + symbol within each account. You can also create an account for any cash in your wallet/purse, prepaid cards, etc. The aim here is to get an idea of all the money you have, owe, or invested — so make sure everything is included!

2. Set goals

Now that you have all your accounts and balances on Willa — it's time to set goals. Maybe you want to repay a loan or reach your savings goal. For each goal you have, create a goal account. Goal accounts are special accounts that are designed to help you reach your goals.

3. Track and review

This is one of the most important parts of staying on top of your finances. Track your expenses and income within each account. For expenses, you can set monthly budgets and Willa will help you track your progress against these budgets. As you save, you can update your goal accounts, reach your goals and add more goals!

How to link my bank accounts to Willa?

We don't have this feature on Willa yet, but we're working on it!

Is my data safe with Willa?

Yes! All your data is saved on the cloud and it's encrypted. We value your privacy, so we make sure that your data is accessible to only you and those you choose to share it with.

How does sharing an account work?

In the current version of Willa, if you share an account with someone, they can view, add, and edit all the transactions within that account. They can also see the account balance, share the account with someone else, and delete the account altogether. So, make sure you only share accounts with someone you trust!

Sharing an account will only let the trusted person access the account that you shared with them, they will not be able to see other accounts that you have on Willa. There is no limit to how many people you can share an account with. Once you remove someone from the shared list, they will no longer be able to view that account.
